TennisBallz
Product brand, custom tennis balls · Recoil-owned
TennisBallz sells custom tennis balls, fulfilled through its Etsy store, with marketing driven by inserts in shipped orders. Today the domain just redirects to Etsy. We are standing up a real, AI-ready website and building the presence around it.
Where they started
- Domain is a placeholder redirect to the Etsy store
- Branding in place
- No Google Business Profile
- No social presence
- Marketing limited to printed inserts in Etsy orders
- Plenty of past-work photos to use
What we are taking on
- Fresh website build from our theme-01 template
- AI-ready structure and schema
- QR-tracked insert funnel (tennisballz.com/etsy)
- Brand presence and content
- Visibility foundation and measurement
Current status
In progress. TennisBallz is one of our own brands, so we run the full playbook on it in the open: replace the redirect with a real site, make it AI-readable, and measure visibility from launch. The printed inserts already drive scans; soon they will land on a real, trackable site instead of a redirect.
Questions
What is TennisBallz?
A product brand selling custom tennis balls, fulfilled through Etsy. It is owned by the same team behind Recoil, so we use it as a live testbed for our own methods.
Why build a website if it sells on Etsy?
A redirect cannot rank, cannot be cited by AI, and cannot be measured. A real site gives the brand a findable home, AI-readable structure, and a way to track the customers who arrive from printed inserts.
How is success measured?
From launch, we track whether AI engines and search surface TennisBallz for its product terms, the same Visibility Check we run for every client, re-measured over time.
Is this case study finished?
No. It is live. As one of our own brands, the entire before and after happens in public.
